Unfaithful (2002)

Directed by Adrian Lyne

This is film that I do compartmentalize, slightly. I don’t think Unfaithful, on the whole, is amazing. But up to the point where Richard Gere’s character finds out what’s up and gets involved, this film is amazing. The tone and pace of it is perfect, the undeniable conflict of Dianne Lane’s character, it all works so well. The casting is amazing, the progression is perfect – the ending dumbs it down a little, but watch the first hour then press stop and tell me you’re not drawn in.
