The Coma
The Coma (2004)
By Alex Garland
I love ‘The Coma’. It’s not a widely known book, it’s not praised at the same level as Garland’s big hit ‘The Beach’. But The Coma is a masterpiece. It’s short, it’s simple in style, but it all flows together so well. You’ll read through it in a few hours, no problem, and it’s that flow that draws you in and makes it so easy to get involved with. It doesn’t give you a heap of character background and it only gives you small pieces to cling to, but I love it.
