Mud (2012)

‘Mud’ was only given a limited cinematic run in Australia, and had it not been for the reviews I’d seen on-line, I’d have dismissed this completely – Matthew McConaughey in the lead role? And I would have made a huge mistake – Mud is an excellent film. The final section didn’t come together as perfectly as I’d have liked, but there’s a scene between Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon where nothing’s spoken, neither of them say a word. And it’s so perfect. If I can ever write a scene as good, I’ll be happy.
